Today was senior picture day. Every young lady was dolled up and every boy was sharp and handsome. I myself am no fan of this day only because I am never satisfied with the pictures that come back.
MY problem was with how genuine can a smile be if it's forced and un called for? When a smile is forced upon someones face who is not a natural smiler it looks entirely awkward. Then you are faced with an awkward feeling and part of regret, wishing you did not take the photo or could take it over.
Pictures are worth a thousand words but, what can you get from a crooked smile and strained face? These pictures start to become something some people wish did not take place. Although these pictures capture a moment that you will soon be proud of its a headache trying to take them, getting ready for them and etc.
P.S Who ever made cameras was a smart person, they made a device that captures time, who would ever think ...
I really enjoyed reading this because I can compare to it. I understand that awkward feeling of staring into a camara and faking a smile. But the good thing about today is that i will have a memory the crazy day I had today
ReplyDeleteI agree and rememeber us having this conversation about this in tomlin office. even though the smiles may have been forced, we had fun and will look back at this pic and remember this day :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so true , and you know what makes it worse, knowing that it's a senior picture. A photograph that will follow you forever. However, I really enjoyed reading this , and many people can relate to the same thing . Good Job!!
ReplyDeleteI actually agree with you. I hate posing for pictures, and sometimes I have a difficult time pretending to smile. Did you enjoy the picture taking experience on the whole?
