Where Does It Stop? (SSR)

Islan Netteles a 21 year old young woman was brutally beat by a group of young men on a side walk in Harlem. She soon died due to her injuries. Islan was a transgender female who lived her life like everyone else but the only difference was the sex she lived her life as and the sex she was actually born as. Nettles was out with several other transgendered woman and was singled out by the men because they found out that she was born a male. Why do people react in such a way? Why cant people just mind their business? Who is someone to be able to judge and cast stones on someone because of the way they live their life? what if it was backwards? Where gays and transgendered bashed the straight for liking and loving who they do. Its really sad that differences tear apart a community and can be the biggest obstacles to get in the way of peace. R.I.P Islan and lets stop the violence and raise the talent.

  1. I hadn't heard this story. I think it is great that you are spreading awareness and taking an action against violence. I agree with you. I don't understand why this woman making a decision for herself and her body should have any effect whatsoever on anyone who is not her!
